Implementation of a Laboratory Automation System
Starting from user requirements gathering, process analysis, design of hardware and software architectures, hardware configuration and software programming, testing, validation, documentation and training, Xyntek developed a fully automated laboratory system for handling CACO2 Cells that retrieve trays, run the cell feeding and permeability assays, and store them. The system was equipped with CRS robotics, TECAN Liquid Handlers, HotPak Incubators, Refrigerators, Accusort barcode scanners, Zymark label printers, Sealers, Heater/Chiller units, PLCs, and other instrumentation. The system was supported with online alarming notification, event handler and scheduler to enable completely automatic operations. It was also equipped with cameras for remote monitoring. The final solution was fully validated and compliant with 21 CFR part 11.
